Stocks which sparked my attention for addition #2

Stocks which sparked my attention for addition #2

The list of stocks which sparked my attention for addition narrowed from a week ago down to two stocks. All other stocks reversed and continued marching higher or just stayed flat. They may however continue falling later as the market turns into correction. That is however something we do not know at this point. So Continue reading →

New Trade – Safeway Inc. (SWY) put selling

New Trade - Safeway Inc. (SWY) put selling

I was searching for stocks which I can buy, but couldn’t find anything at a decent price. Everything I was interested in is so elevated that I wasn’t comfortable buying at the current price. So I was thinking that the only way I would be willing to do is to sell a longer term put Continue reading →

Trade adjustment – Lorillard, Inc. (LO) addition

Trade adjustment - Lorillard, Inc. (LO) addition

Today I added 25 shares of Lorillard to my portfolio. The trade trigger was triggered and the order was executed. It seems that the selling hysteria of this stock over a potential menthol ban calmed down. Of course, it still may happen, but it may not as this issue was on the table a year Continue reading →

Trade adjustment – TASER International Inc (TASR)

Trade adjustment - TASER International Inc (TASR)

I hold TASR as my option play, but today’s frenzy selling compared to results of this company (50% better revenue which beat analyst expectations)makes TASR a good buy play. So I added another 100 shares to my current holding. As the stock recovers I will be selling more calls against the original and new holding. Continue reading →

Trade adjustment – Gold (GLD) addition

Trade adjustment - Gold (GLD) addition

Today I added a few shares of GLD into my portfolio as Gold suffered a huge sell off. As I wrote in my previous post I believe the today’s price action is an overreaction of investors, most likely responding to (outdated) report from Sorros Fund Management. As I wrote I believe GLD indicated a bearish Continue reading →

New Trade – ARMOUR Residential REIT, Inc. (ARR) addition

New Trade - ARMOUR Residential REIT, Inc. (ARR) addition

This morning Armour Residential (ARR) opened 5% lower due to SPO. There may be many reasons for SPO but thoe one I have read on the internet would be financing new projects. With a book value at $6.73 this seems to be a good sign. It is also how REITs get their financing. They issue Continue reading →

MBIA Inc (MBI) and put selling

MBIA Inc (MBI) and put selling

After reviewing my current position with MBIA (MBI) I decided to take another trade with this stock. I already hold 100 shares of MBI and have a covered call written against this stock, see my previous trade here. This trade went bad originally and I was double guessing it whether it was a good joice Continue reading →

New trade – Lorillard, Inc. (LO)

Today I added Lorillard, Inc.(LO) shares into my portfolio. It pays nice dividend with 23% dividend growth, 4 year dividend increase history and 21% annual expected return growth. My calculated fair value is at 41.33 a share and Morningstar lists their fair value at 41 a share. Their analysis expect better and more aggressive growth Continue reading →

Wating for the stock can improve profits – attempting to buy NGLS

Wating for the stock can improve profits - attempting to buy NGLS

On many occasions I have read and heard dividend investors saying that it doesn’t matter much when you buy your dividend paying stock and if you invest regularly, in long term the prices will smooth into average anyway. However I like to wait for the stock I am interested in to pull back and buy Continue reading →
