Greek finance minister resigns – futures rally

A Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis announced that he resigns due to “certain preferences” among some Eurogroup participants. In other words, those participants couldn’t stand him anymore.

And $SPX futures responded to the news with a rally (which of course will be a short lived, most likely):

I only have a few words for this: What a joke!

Really, the situation is getting insane! I never got why people in the market get so scared by such news. I mean, I wish it goes better quickly in Greece, but such reaction for a minister who resigns? lol

    Cheers,

      Mike,

I totally agree with you. These swings are insane. Greece is small and fairly insignificant and people are freaking about it. How come no one was freaking this way with Estonia, or Italy and Spain when they were in trouble? And Spain is a lot bigger economy than Greece.

Greeks have to change their thinking first to change the country.
