This month I decided to sell one loan which became dangerous to me. The borrower was becoming late in payments, always contacting Lending Club and promising to pay. Lending Club put this borrower on a payment plan. Even though the borrower paid in grace period so far I had a feeling that he/she may default one day. This loan was one of my very first loans when I didn’t have my rules set yet. After I made my rules, this loan didn’t pass them, so I decided to sell this loan. The borrowed loan amount was 25,000 dollars with $839.16 monthly payments and although the borrower was claiming things such as “I have never been without a job – and that’s the ttuth (sic). I have offers fairly consistently even in this economy. I have a Computer science degree, over 20 years in this industry plus PMP certifcation (sic) for project management.” and claiming good job, good money and so on. Her credit score dropped from 414-749 to 550-599 range. Also here is the history of Collecting log:

10/3/10 (Sunday) Borrower promised to pay
10/3/10 (Sunday) Borrower contacted Lending Club
9/2/10 (Thursday) Borrower promised to pay
9/2/10 (Thursday) Borrower contacted Lending Club
8/2/10 (Monday) Borrower promised to pay
8/2/10 (Monday) Borrower contacted Lending Club
7/26/10 (Monday) PAYMENT received
7/21/10 (Wednesday) Attempted to collect payment
7/15/10 (Thursday) Sent email to borrower
7/15/10 (Thursday) Attempted to contact borrower (left voicemail)
7/15/10 (Thursday) PAYMENT Failed

The second payment failed. It seems to me that this borrower haven’t used the money as she claimed. When looking at the history of her payments the amount of borrowed money I didn’t have more trust in this borrower and decided to sell via FOLIOfn before this loan defaults at all.
