Is the US market heading up tomorrow?

The European stock markets opened strong on Monday morning so we may expect the US markets rise higher too.

LONDON — European stocks opened higher on Monday, with every sector rising after two straight weeks of gains and advances for ten out of the last 14 weeks. Movers included National Express (UK:NEX 392.10, +30.00, +8.29%) , which rose 7.9% as Stagecoach (UK:SGC 155.50, -0.60, -0.38%) made a tentative all-stock offer for the U.K. bus and rail operator, and Nestle (CH:NESN 43.80, +0.48, +1.11%) , which advanced 1.8% on an upgrade ahead of the world’s largest food producer’s nine-month sales update on Thursday. The U.K. FTSE 100 rose 0.9% to 5,235.17, the German DAX rose 0.8% to 5,791.13 and the French CAC 40 rose 0.8% to 3,855.20.

I decided to add more risk to my portfolio (my current total risk is 3.69% as of Sunday late night, actually Monday very early morning) and open new position by buying JADE shares.
Tomorrow, when the US markets open, I shall buy 34 shares of this stock at the price around $3.40 per share. I am also looking at other penny stocks with strong earnings such as SIHI and MHJ.

ORS added to portfolio

Today I added an ORS play to my portfolio. Is this stock going to be another FUQI, RINO or STEC? Today the stock shot up on heavy volume (almost three times the average). I decided to take the risk and add some shares.

STEC sold, DFS added

I do not like how (STEC) is acting, struggling to move higher, so I decided to sell it. Instead I have bought some shares of Discover Financial Services (DFS)

10/08/2009   15:25:50   Sold  3  STEC  @  27.441
10/08/2009   15:26:10   Bought  6  DFS  @  17.0394

However, I still keep STEC in my watch list and buy it back after it becomes clear which direction the stock will go. I still believe it is a good company and a good stock with a great growth potential. It just lacks a buying support now.

RINO added to portfolio

Today I have bought RINO shares to my portfolio. However this trade extended my risk exposure over the limit. I will have to add more cash to the portfolio or sell some other stocks. FUQI and STEC do not act as I wish to see and they may be sold out soon. Let’s see what would happen this or next week.

Here is today’s trade:

10/06/2009    14:36:12    Bought  4  RINO  @  22.7294

This week was the weakest one since the rally started. It seems the market may be entering into a correction. The job loss data hit stocks hard and as I expected some stocks were dragged down by the market. Visa has been stopped out and I am expecting further fall next week. I have no trades available to open, so I will be waiting aside and keep my stop loss orders tight. Let’s see how the market will react the next week and deal with the economic data.

Stocks hit ahead of jobs report

Today stocks got hit hard while awaiting jobs report due tomorrow. I do not like how my stocks are behaving so I decided to tighten my stop loss and I am expecting to be stopped out if the report gets bad. I am planning on selling STEC and Visa (V) and wait for its buy-back point, if it happens at all.
